History

MBS started as Monterey Bay Office Products in 1982 by local entrepreneur, Joel Trudeau. In 2008, Joel's long time business partners, Kellie Murphy and Armando Gonzalez purchased Joel's remaining shares and today Kellie and Armando are the sole owners of the company.  Both are active managing partners in the day-to-day business operations.

Since the very beginning, our goal has been to develop a long-term business relationship with each customer and to help them develop a document output strategy, that maximizes the resources of their specific organization.  We have concentrated our efforts on businesses located in Monterey, Santa Cruz, San Benito and Santa Clara Counties.  Our core business has been, and continues to be, document imaging systems that print, copy, scan, store and fax.

In March 2010, we shortened our name to Monterey Bay Systems. Our new name covers every aspect of our expanding products and services. We have created a new logo that represents our two biggest strengths through two graphic arches: people and cutting edge technology. The overlap between the arches graphically represents the coming together of these two strengths, which is how MBS delivers solutions at the highest level of excellence. Green represents the company moving towards environmentally-friendly solutions, and blue pays homage to the company’s roots and heritage.

To continue our growth and adapt to the needs of our customers, MBS has created a new Solutions division that offers additional resources and expertise to our clients. Our Solutions division will focus primarily on two additional business services. Software Solutions will enhance the digital products we offer and help our clients digitally store and control documents while Managed Print Services will assist our clients in controlling and managing all of their output devices.
